The Brooklyn College Community Partnership After School Program at Roland Hayes Intermediate School 291 is locate in the inspiring, diverse neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn.  The Brooklyn College Community Partnership has had the wonderful opportunity of servicing the Bushwick community since 2001 in various youth development projects.

We have an extraordinary staff which consist of teaching artists, program assistants, college students, high school interns and a site director.

Among the activities offered to IS 291 student body are Video Media, Visual Arts, Theater Performance, Electronic Music and Fashion Design. Other activities include Homework Help/Tutoring, Beading, Dance, Board Games, Movie afternoons as well as recreational and educational trips.

Various teachers, student aide with their class also participate in a fun-filled Brooklyn College campus experience.  During these visits, students, teachers, school aides engage in an interactive campus scavenger hunt, artistic workshops, meet current college students and are treated to lunch.

  1. I wonder if you can help me with more information and perhaps a photograph of my dear friend Mr. Alberto Bryan whom, I understand, was principal of your school until he died in 2001. I would appreciate any other activity he was involved in as I am composing a memorial for this childhood friend who I grew up with. Thank you in advance.
